Dr. Yew is a Senior Consultant at the Division of Endocrinology, National University Hospital, and Assistant Professor at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He is deeply passionate about person-centred care.

He leads the ‘Year of Care’ pilot at NUH, which aims to transform clinic consultations into meaningful conversations, to promote shared decision making and better support for self-management. He plays an active role in extending the program to primary care through the PACE-D program, in collaboration with colleagues from the National University Polyclinics.

He also has keen interests in the area of gestational diabetes, diabetes in pregnancy and thyroid disorders in pregnancy. He is Program Director for the NUHS Endocrinology Senior Residency Program. In his free time, he enjoys doing Chinese calligraphy, painting and seal carvings, and his artwork has been exhibited internationally. He also contributes regularly to columns in print media where he writes about heart-warming stories he has encountered in the course of his work.
